Submission Information for Western American Literature

Western American Literature publishes literary criticism and interdisciplinary work with a literary focus. Manuscripts on any aspect of the literature of the American West are invited. We’re particularly interested in essays on multiculturalism and on the “New West.”

Except under unusual circumstances, WAL will not consider essays over 35 pages. Please do not submit an essay that is under consideration elsewhere.

Please send one electronic copy in MS Word as an attachment to Tom Lynch. Put your name on the first page only and veil any further references to your own work, if applicable, to assure anonymity with the readers. It is no longer necessary to mail paper copies.

Please use endnotes, not footnotes, for substantive notes. Your manuscript should follow MLA style and have a Works Cited list.

Also include your e-mail address so we can immediately acknowledge receipt of your submission.
